Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh peran anggota awam dalam Komite Eksekutif (ExCom) Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh (GMAHK) Manokwari, yang memiliki posisi profesional di luar gereja, terhadap pengambilan keputusan gerejawi. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan desain studi kasus, penelitian ini menganalisis dinamika konflik kepentingan yang muncul akibat peran ganda anggota ExCom. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi lapangan, dan studi dokumentasi kebijakan gereja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh eksternal, seperti jabatan profesional di luar gereja, dapat mempengaruhi transparansi dan integritas pengambilan keputusan dalam gereja, sehingga menimbulkan polarisasi dan ketegangan di antara jemaat. Penelitian ini juga menekankan pentingnya penerapan prinsip servant leadership dalam kepemimpinan gereja untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Kembali pada prinsip pelayanan yang mengutamakan kesejahteraan rohani jemaat akan membantu memulihkan integritas gerejawi dan menjaga kesatuan jemaat. Usulan dari penelitian ini adalah agar gereja mengembangkan kebijakan yang lebih jelas dalam memisahkan peran gerejawi dan profesional, serta melatih anggota ExCom dalam penerapan servant leadership untuk memastikan keputusan-keputusan gereja tetap berfokus pada pelayanan rohani.
