Makna Teologis Konsep Pertunangan dalam Matius 1:18 pada Teks Syriac Peshitta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis makna teologis konsep Pertunangan dalam Matius 1:18 berdasarkan teks Syriac Peshitta. Kajian ini berfokus pada istilah ܡܟܝܪܐ (mkhīrā) yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan status hubungan Maria dan Yusuf sebelum kelahiran Yesus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutika Alkitab dan analisis leksikal terhadap teks Syriac Peshitta. Analisis dilakukan dengan menelaah akar kata ܡܟܪ (m-k-r), bentuk morfologis kata, serta hubungannya dengan praktik hukum pernikahan Yahudi seperti erusin dan kiddushin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa istilah tersebut tidak hanya merujuk pada pertunangan sosial, tetapi menggambarkan status hukum yang telah mengikat antara Maria dan Yusuf. Temuan ini menjelaskan bahwa narasi kelahiran Yesus dalam Injil Matius disusun dengan mempertimbangkan struktur hukum pernikahan Yahudi sekaligus menegaskan kelahiran dari Roh Kudus. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa analisis linguistik terhadap teks Syriac memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memahami dimensi teologis narasi kelahiran Yesus.
